This is both funny and ridiculous, and will probably never happen, although it would not be the first time we saw something irrational produced by the fashion industry. How did Jessi end up buying a silly, uncomfortable, impractical and expensive bag, after appearing to be totally against it?

Of course, this is not about a metal bag; it is about the herd instinct. Sometimes, we are so keen to ”be like” other people, so we do things that do not express our inner values. Oddly though, being long enough part of a herd transforms us into someone else and changes our behavior. This transformation, though, is not the issue. Actually change is a normal process during one’s life. Surprisingly, being part of a herd is not really the issue either. We are all part of some herd, whether we accept it or not. Even the most rebellious people have a flock they relate to. The real questions are: ”Which herd?” and ”Transformed into what?” Equally important is the idea that if we are part of a flock, we must have a shepherd.

Have you considered who or what this shepherd is to you? While you think about this, let me give you a tip: Look around at your fellow sheep and if you don’t like where they are going and what they are becoming, maybe the shepherd is misleading.
